| Days 1 & 2 Join our Presley Tour Director at St. Louis Lambert Airport for our international departure to Athens, Greece. On Day 2 arrive in Athens; we’ll transfer to our hotel for an afternoon at leisure. A dinner to welcome us to glorious Greece is included this evening. Day 3 This morning we experience the blend of ancient and modern worlds on our sightseeing tour of this most fascinating city. A highlight of the tour will be a drive up the Acropolis Hill to visit the remarkably preserved Parthenon. The tour will also take us on a scenic drive to view the National Library, House of Parliament, and Temple of Olympian Zeus. We have the rest of the day to enjoy at leisure, do some shopping, or take an optional tour to Cape Sounion in the afternoon and visit the magnificent Temple of Poseidon. Day 4 & 5 Today’s tour takes us to the famous Corinth Canal, a waterway crossroad of antiquity which connects the Aegean and Ionian Seas. We continue to Ancient Corinth, where St. Paul first brought the message of Christian faith. We will visit the Agora and one of the most outstanding monuments of pre-Roman period, the Temple of Apollo. Continue to Mycenae Here we view the handsome Lion Gate, the cyclopean walls and the royal tomb of Agamemnon. After lunch drive through Argos and travel to Nauplia the first capital of modern Greece with its Venetian fortress of Palamidi and the fortified Islet of Bourtzi. Before leaving the area we stop in Epidaurus to visit the ancient theatre, world famous for its outstanding acoustics. Drive along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf back to Athens. Day 5 is your day to explore. Stroll along Syntagma Square, take a funicular to the top of lofty Lycabetus hill for a panoramic view of Athens, enjoy Greek coffee and honeysweet baklava pastry at a sidewalk café, or you may take an optional full day tour with lunch to Delphi, the “Omphalos” (navel) of the earth, where the Ancient Delphi Oracle was located, whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Greek world. Visit the Sanctuary of Apollo, Pythios, the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo and in the Delphi Museum to see such world renowned masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias. After Delphi and lunch in a typical Greek restaurant, return to Athens passing via Thermopylae, (Hot Gates in the movie 300), famous for the ancient battle that took place there and still have time for your evening out with the group for live Bouzouki music and Greek folk dances in Plaka. Day 6 This morning we start the day with a short drive to the colorful port of Piraeus and board the Star Cruise Ship for a 4-night cruise. Our first stop is the delightful island of Mykonos, where we have time to browse through the many smart boutiques, photograph the numerous windmills, or relax at a seaside café. Return to the ship in the early evening. At dusk, Mykonos is a feast for the eyes as the waterfront whose color blazed so brightly in the mid-day sun is bathed in the soft sunset colors of mauve and pink. Day 7 In the morning we arrive at Kusadasi, Turkey, and enjoy a guided tour to Ephesus. Here history truly comes to life as we walk towards the ancient harbor, down a marble road rutted by the wheels of countless chariots. We pass architectural masterpieces like the Library of Celsus, before arriving at the Greek Amphitheater where St. Paul was arrested and cast out of the city. Return to the ship to enjoy a leisurely buffet lunch by the poolside as we cruise to Patmos, the island on which St. John wrote the book of Revelations. We have included an excursion to see the Byzantine Monastery and the Saint’s humble grotto dwelling as well as a city tour before sailing. Included Meals: Day 7 – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 8 The crusader city of Rhodes welcomes our ship this morning. We have all day ashore to explore the city’s medieval battlements, or to walk through the winding cobblestone streets with their colorful markets. This is where we find excellent bargains on wool, furs, brass and Grecian artifacts. One optional excursion includes Lindos’ Temple of Athens, which is perched majestically above the Aegean Sea. Day 9 Our port of call this morning is Heraklion, Crete. Optional shore excursions may include the Palace of Knossos, legendary home of the Minotaur, in its peaceful setting among the flourishing vineyards of this beautiful green island. A visit to the magnificent collection of finds in the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion completes the introduction to this great and sophisticated Bronze Age civilization. The next stop is Santorini (ancient Thera) an island of artifacts belonging to various periods. For an added adventure on optional tours, take either the cable car ride or mount a donkey for the exciting trip up the volcanic cliffs for a fascinating panoramic view; or visit the excavated Minoan city of Akrotiri which was destroyed in 1500 B.C. by an eruption of the volcano of Thera. We sail back to Piraeus this evening. Included Meals: Day 9 – Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 10 Disembark in the morning and transfer to board our flight back to the USA, with memories of an unforgettable journey through “The Wonders of Greece.” Included Meal: Day 10 – Breakfast, Transatlantic In-Flight Meals
