Days 1 and 2 | Dearborn

On Day 1, our destination is Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Day 2, we depart for Dearborn, Michigan, to visit Greenfield Village. We see the Orville and Wilbur Wright Cycle Shop, the Lincoln Courthouse and the Henry Ford Museum. We will spend the night in Birch Run. (Day 2 - B)

Day 3 | Frankenmuth

This morning we journey to Frankenmuth, Michigan, “Little Bavaria of North America.” We visit Bronner’s Christmas World and have lunch at the world-famous Bavarian Inn. Visit the Call of the Wild, a wilderness museum depicting the varied wildlife of the North. We continue on to St. Ignace, where we check into our beachfront hotel. Later this evening, we enjoy a bonfire and marshmallow roast (weather permitting) on the beach outside our hotel. (B,L)

Day 4 | Mackinac Island

Board a ferry to Mackinac Island. A horsedrawn carriage tour features the Governor’s Summer Residence, City Hall, Blacksmith Shop and Skull Cave, and tour Fort Mackinac. After, we enjoy the world-famous luncheon at the gleaming Grand Hotel. The remainder of the afternoon we have free time on the island before returning to our hotel. (B,L)

Day 5 | Tahquamenon falls

We begin our morning at the Museum of Ojibwa Culture then head north to Tahquamenon Falls. After lunch at Tahquamenon Falls Brew Pub, we visit the Upper Falls, the second largest waterfall east of the Mississippi. We head north to Whitefish Point and the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, where we explore the haunting world of Lake Superior shipwrecks. We continue to Sault Ste. Marie and the Soo Locks where we enjoy a cruise of the locks and a boxed dinner onboard. (B,L,D)

Day 6 | Holland

A comfortable drive brings us to Saugatuck. Hold on to your hats as we experience an unbelievable expedition on the Goshorn Lake Dune Schooners. Overnight in the city of Holland. (B)

Day 7 | Return Home

This morning we visit DeKlomp Wooden Shoe & Delft Factory, where wooden shoes are made with European machinery, handfinished and decorated by carvers and artists. All too soon, it’s time to say goodbye to Michigan and return home. (B)
