Tour Plan
Today we travel west through Missouri to our overnight in Oklahoma City, OK.
We continue through Oklahoma and Texas into Albuquerque for an exciting ride on the Sandia Peak Tramway ascending to the 10,378 feet crest of the Sandia Mountains. (B)
More beauty awaits us at the Painted Desert and the fascinating Petrified Forest National Park. Lunch will be in the Turquoise Room at historic and beautiful La Posada Hotel in Winslow. We will tour the La Posada Hotel with a “Harvey Girls” guide. See the mural made famous in “Take it Easy”, a song recorded by the Eagles. Flagstaff will be our home for tonight. (B,L)
Day 4 | Sedona - Cottonwood
Today we travel south through Oak Creek Canyon, a kaleidoscope of rocky, red cliffs to Sedona for the Broken Arrow Tour – a thrilling off-road adventure! You will have time this afternoon for lunch on your own and explore the Tlaquepaque Village. Dinner will be at 89 Agave Cantina. Our home for two nights will be in Cottonwood, AZ. (B,D)
Today we visit the enchanting Tuzigoot National Monument built by a thriving community of ancient people. Next, we visit Jerome State Historic Park, home to the Douglas Mansion built in 1916 by James S. Douglas. Onto the Montezuma Castle National Monument where ancient cliff dwellings will astonish you. Tonight, we will experience the “Wild West” at the Blazin’ M Ranch for an evening of fun, food, and activities that will transport you back in time. (B,D)
After breakfast we will travel south to visit the beautiful Desert Botanical Gardens. We will then have a local guide show us some highlights of Phoenix. This evening we will visit the Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert, AZ for the Titanic Musical that won 5 Tony Awards! (B,L)
Day 7 | Santa Catalina Mountains
We continue south today to the desert foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains for a Sabino Canyon tour. We will then visit the Pima Air & Space Museum, one of the largest non-government funded aviation and space museums in the world. A box lunch will be provided. We will continue east to Las Cruces, NM for the night. (B,L)
Our day continues southeast today to the Guadalupe Mountains National Park which protects the world’s extensive Permian fossil reef. Continuing Northeast to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Formed when sulfuric acid dissolved limestone leaving behind caverns of all sizes. Abilene, TX will be our home for the night. (B,L)
Day 9 | Oklahoma City - Tulsa
Continuing our journey towards home we stop at Bricktown in Oklahoma City for some shopping and lunch on our own. We then meet up for an narrated cruise through the heart of downtown Oklahoma City’s Bricktown entertainment district. Your overnight stay will be in Tulsa, OK. (B)
Day 10 | Tulsa - Return Home
Sit back and relax as your journey comes to an end, the memories of the fun, history, and the beautiful scenery will last a lifetime. (B)
