Days 1 and 2: Tennessee and North Carolina

Our journey takes us through the state of Tennessee to Harriman for our overnight stay. Day 2: Today we make our way Southeast through the beautiful state of North Carolina to the coastal town of Wilmington for the next two nights. Included dinner will be at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 3: Wilmington

We will have a walking tour of Historic Wilmington district, visit the Battleship North Carolina, which participated in every major naval offensive in the Pacific theater of operations during WW 11, earning 15 battle scars. There will be time for lunch and shopping in the Historic district before cruising along downtown Wilmington via the Cape Fear River, a vital lifeline for the South for more than 300 years. We will have dinner at Havana’s, a casual seafood restaurant located in a 1916 beach cottage in the center of Carolina Beach. (B,D)

Day 4: Wilmington

After breakfast we make our way to Arlie Gardens, where we will take the morning to enjoy the beautiful gardens wandering among the peaceful, tranquil surroundings while having a front row seat to butterflies, birds, squirrels and water life. We will have lunch on our own and do a little shopping on the riverwalk. This afternoon we will visit the Bellamy Mansion designed by architect John F. Post for the wealthy physician and merchant, Dr. John D. Bellamy. We will leave Wilmington and take a short drive to Myrtle Beach, SC for the next three nights. Dinner will be at Carolina’s Seafood and Steak. (B,D)

Day 5: Myrtle Beach

We will spend some time this morning on the beach relaxing. This afternoon we will go to Barefoot Landing located along the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway in North Myrtle Beach and features national retail shops, quaint boutiques, an impressive selection of restaurants and eateries, and exciting entertainment and amusement offerings. After dinner at Original Benjamin’s Calabash, a original landmark on the Grand Strand, we will go to the Alabama Theatre for a night of entertaining with the grandest variety show on the Grand Strand. Day 6: Myrtle Beach

This morning, we will visit the ever changing, simply amazing Brookgreen Gardens. After a box lunch at Brookgreen Gardens, we will go on a narrated cruise of the intercoastal waterways and out into the ocean in search of dolphins. Next, we head to Broadway on the Beach to do some shopping and have dinner at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen for a unique and unforgettable dining experience. After dinner we will enjoy the impressive variety of a live music show at the Carolina Opry. (B,L,D)

Day 7: Pigeon Forge

Today we leave the beach an begin our journey towards home stopping over in Pigeon Forge for dinner at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant and an evening of entertainment at the Country Tonight Show. (B,D)

Today we return home with new friends and lots of great memories. (B)
