Day 3 | Gettysburg

After breakfast at the hotel, we stop in Somerset at the Quecreek Mine rescue site. Arriving in Gettysburg, we enjoy dinner at the 1776 Dobbins House Tavern. (B,D)

Day 4 | Gettysburg to Lancaster

We are off to the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor’s Center. We’re joined by a local guide who takes us through the battlefield, including a stop at the Soldiers’ National Cemetery, where President Lincoln delivered the famous Gettysburg Address. After lunch, we depart for Lancaster, where we see “Daniel” at the Sight & Sound Theatre. After the show, we have dinner at Hershey Farm Smorgasbord before checking into our Lancaster hotel. (B,D)

Day 5 | Lancaster to Philadelphia

We start the day at the Amish Experience Theatre, a one-of-a-kind experience. “Jacob’s Choice” tells the emotional story of the Fisher family from sixteenth century Europe to modern-day America. Ghostly effects, cannon, wind, rain and fire effects immerse you in the world of the Amish. Next we visit the Fisher Family Homestead and One-Room School. Both are designated official Lancaster County “Heritage Sites” and the house tour answers the “how” and “why” of Amish dress, life without electricity and many other Amish riddles. Our time in Lancaster ends with a delicious lunch in an Amish Home. We drive though the beautiful countryside on our way to Philadelphia. Our first stop in Philadelphia is at the Rocky Statue and the “Rocky Steps” before checking into our hotel. (B,L)

Day 6 | Philadelphia

Today is a full day of walking. After breakfast at the hotel, our motor coach drops us off for a tour of the Philadelphia US Mint. Our day continues with stops and visits at the National Constitution Center, Betsy Ross Home, Liberty Bell, Franklin Court, and the Franklin burial site. Late this afternoon we visit Reading Terminal Market where you can do some shopping and use your gift card (provided) for dinner in one of the restaurants or cafes. (B,D)

Day 7 | Stoystown to Columbus

We enjoy an included breakfast at the hotel before traveling across Pennsylvania to the Flight 93 National Memorial, located at the site of the crash of United Airlines Flight 93, which was hijacked on September 11, 2001. Later in the afternoon, we continue on toward Columbus, Ohio. (B)

Day 8 | Return Home

Breakfast is included at the hotel before we continue our journey across Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois toward home. (B)
