Days 1 and 2 | Columbus - Niagara Falls
We head into Ohio for the night. On Day 2 we travel to Niagara Falls, New York. Upon arrival we board our trolley for a narrated tour of America’s Niagara State Park. Optional sightseeing might include Maid of the Mist boat ride, Observation Tower, Aquarium of Niagara, Cave of the Winds or the Discovery Center. (Day 2 - B)
Day 3 | New York-Vermont
Day 4 | Vermont-New Hampshire
We’ll step back in time at the Shelburne Museum, a reconstructed colonial New England community. Later on, we pass through Vermont into New Hampshire. Then, it’s off to the White Mountains. We overnight in Tilton, New Hampshire. (B)
Day 5 | Maine
A brief drive brings us to Weirs Beach, where we board the Mount Washington for a 2-hour luncheon cruise on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee. Our next stop is the resort town of Kennebunkport. Visit Dock Square with restored houses, boutiques, shops, eateries and galleries. We will overnight in Seabrook, New Hampshire. (B,L)
Day 6 | Boston
A local guide provides a look at historic Boston. We’ll see the Boston Common, the Old State House, Faneuil Hall, Old North Church, and Old Ironsides, the USS Constitution. (B)
Day 7 | Hyannis
We follow the Atlantic Coast down to Plymouth Rock. We visit the newly restored Mayflower II. On to Cape Cod, and the Cape Cod Maritime Museum. After lunch, our local guide will introduce us to a land of sunny beaches, marshlands, dunes, craggy coasts and quaint fishing villages. We visit the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum. On our Hyannis Harbor Cruise, you can relax and enjoy the views as your guide explains the various points of interest, including aspects of the local maritime industry and the people who established the waterfront community. While on the East Coast, a good lobster dinner is a must. So, that’s just what we’re going to have. You are in for a treat tonight! (B,D)
Day 8 | Newport-Pennsylvania
Today, we visit Newport, Rhode Island and tour Cornelius Vanderbilt’s summer cottage, The Breakers. The 70-room mansion is considered to be the most elaborate of all the Newport homes. We head inland this afternoon into the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. Our home for the night is in Wilkes-Barre. (B)
